We are pleased to announce the Illinois State Board of Education has awarded Sward Elementary School the 2012 Academic Excellence Award. The ISBE commends Mrs. Lori Gloodt, principal, and her faculty on all the good work required to sustain academic excellence.
In order to earn an award of this magnitude, Sward School must have made Adequate Yearly Progress in 2011 and 2012, as well as maintain 90 percent of students meeting or exceeding state standards in both reading and mathematics for three years.

Congratulations to the staff and students of Sward!! We are proud parents!! We moved into Sward's school district from Plainfield at the start of last year and have been impressed with Mrs. Gloodt and her staff from the moment we stepped in the door! Keep up the great work!

Love this school! Mrs. Dinolfo (in the picture) will be missed next year but thankfully the entire staff is wonderful. Mrs. Ahmad, Ms. Abbott, Mrs. Jensen, Mrs. Hawley, and Mrs. Coennen have all inspired my children to be the best. Mrs. Gloodt is a role model for all her teachers and staff. Along with the teachers, we are lucky to have such involved parents and a wonderful PTA run by President Kate Kazeneskie. No wonder the enrollment has skyrocketed over the past few years. Keep up the great work and what a great honor!

Anyone who has had children attend Sward already knew this. My two children attended Sward K-5. It is a great school. Congratulations to Mrs. Gloodt and all the teachers and staff!!

Congratulations are extended to the wonderful parents and extended families of the Sward community who support their children in our academic endeavors. The Sward teaching staff is dedicated to each child's growth as a student and as a responsible citizen of our school community.
