Youth Service Medal of Honor

I am pleased to announce that Sarah Dynia, sophomore at Mother McAuley, resident of Oak Lawn, was awarded the Youth Service Medal of Honor by Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart at a ceremony last night, November 27, 2012 at the UIC Forum in Chicago.

The Sheriff’s Youth Service Medal of Honor program was established to recognize Cook County students who have volunteered 100 or more hours during the previous year. The 2012 Medal of Honor recipients have contributed over 45,000 hours of service to a variety of agencies and organizations throughout Cook County.

Along with being the Founder & President of Stuffed Love, Sarah also is past-President of the Interact Club of Oak Lawn, Peer Juror for Worth Township, and volunteers at the Chicago Food Depository, Interfaith House, Mended Little Hearts of Chicago, Oak Lawn Children’s Museum, Park Lawn, and White Sox Volunteer Corps.
