D218 Board Member Arrested for Second DUI
Johnny Holmes, a D218 school board member and chief of police in Robbins, charged with second DUI in three years, the Chicago Tribune reports.
A school board member and south suburban police chief has been charged with his second DUI in less than three years, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Robbins Police Chief Johnny Holmes, 66, was pulled over around 10:30 p.m. Dec. 22, after he was reported to have cut off another driver.

According to the Tribune, Holmes was found with a flask of liquor in his pocket and a blood-alcohol content of .194, more than twice the legal limit.
At first Holmes denied he had had any alcohol, but he eventually admitted to drinking earlier at Posen Pub. Holmes also thought he was still in Posen, the Tribune cited the police report.
Holmes failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. He was eventually charged with two counts of DUI, police said.
The Robbins police chief currently sits on the Community High School Dist. 218 school board, that includes H. L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn, and Alan B. Shepard High School in Palos Heights. Holmes was arrested for DUI in March 2010, also in Midlothian, when he allegedly swerved into a lane of oncoming traffic.
At that time, Holmes was suspended with pay while his case was under review by the village board. He was issued a verbal warning by Robbins village trustees.

How is it possible to be charged with two counts of DUI?

Twice the legal limit? (Probably not, but it should be that way...)

He should lose his job, and be removed from the School Board. What type of an example is this to the residents of Robbins or the students, parents and faculty of District 218? I am a taxpaying member of District 218 who requests his immediate resignation from the Board.

Good luck is right! I hear the 218 board is as corrupt as it gets. And John Byrne and his two administrators are running one of the most corrupt districts in Illinois. I'm bet this is just the start.

Two counts of DUI ? One is a criminal charge and one is a civil charge. South surburban school boards have convicted felons on the board, District 205 and distgrict 152, felony theft and theft of state funds. Members have served time in prison. Time to get rid of many of these small school boards that misuse funds and have felons as members. They do little but cost money for taxpayers.

He will never lose his job. He will play the race card, file a discrimination suit and settle for big bucks, then go out and have a few drinks to celebrate.
Who Him?

He'll be voted in by the "underinformed voters" that voted for JJJr, Derrick Smith, Bobby Rush, & all the other law breakers. How stupid, Um.. "underinformed" can these people be, really!.

Just like Ogelsby in Markham. She has her name on the Library yet was indicted for theft of taxpayer funds. 218 is my district and we pay big property taxes for this type representation?! What a corrupt bunch of losers that think they are above the law! Hats off to the officer for not caring about his affiliations and throwing the book at him. He is a piece of feces......

Imagine how many times he got off lucky. He drives with a flask and flashes his badge. I agree kudos to the Midlo officer who didn't save his disgusting behind.
