Evergreen Park Police Assisting Chicago Cops In Search for Subject - UPDATED SUBJECT IN CUSTODY
Chicago Police confirm that a subject is in custody.
Update: The Chicago Tribune is reporting that a man pointed a gun at Chicago police officers shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Police officers fired at the man on the 3100 block of West 84th Place in the Wrightwood neighborhood, but no one is struck.
Residents said they heard gunshots on the block, a reader said.
A gun was found in a yard a block from the shooting. The man was at large but is reported to have been arrested.
Police scanner chatter said the man was arrested. Officer Hector Alfaro of Chicago Police News Affairs confirmed that a man was in custody.
Earlier: A community alert has been issued over the Oak Lawn Emergency Notification System around 11 p.m. Wednesday.
Evergreen Police are assisting Chicago Police in "looking for a subject," the alert said. No further informaiton is available.
Police ask that should residents see someone suspicious to call 911.

was coming home via 79th and Kedzie, cops coming from every direction. They were lined up and down Kedzie from 79th to 83rd in both directions and had all the side streets blocked with police vehicles..scary stuff
