Man Helps Cops Catch Car Vandal
According to reports, a man helped Evergreen Park police catch someone who had apparently vandalized a truck.
When a man saw someone sprint from the scene of a crime, he followed him and called the cops.
Evergreen Park police said Mario B. Luna, 48, of Oak Lawn, was seen by a witness in the 9600 block of Harding Avenue running from a parked truck which had just had the front driver’s tires slashed and the windows of the truck busted around 6:47 p.m. Nov. 21.
According to reports, the witness, who was not the victim, followed Luna as he drove a Honda to the 9600 block of Keeler Avenue in Oak Lawn. When police arrested Luna, the witness picked him out of a photo line-up, police said.
Police charged Luna with felony criminal damage to property. According to reports, Luna damaged a 1997 Ford truck in excess of $300.
