Mother McAuley to Compete in National Science Bowl
If the team wins, they'll get a trip to Washington D.C. where they will compete on national-level.

A group of exceptionally brainy Mother McAuley students are prepping to go up against some of Chicago’s finest high schools in the regional round of the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Scicence’s National Science Bowl. The competition is one of 120 regional bowls across the country. It will take place Feb. 23 at Evanston Township High School.
If the girls win, they will receive a fully paid trip to Washington D.C. in late April where they will compete on a national level for prizes for both the team and Mother McAuley High School—although exactly what those prizes are has yet to be determined.
The competition is stiff, though. The McAuley team will compete against some of the brightest students from Evanston Township High School, Instituto Health Sciences Career Academy and Northside College Preparatory High School.
The National Science Bowl was started 23 years ago to spark youth interest in careers in science and math. Nearly 10,000 high school students will compete this year.
