I dont want a low bidder? Why was he so low? Was he fed bid information from a trustee or village employee on the dollar amounts of the other bids. This all seems to staged. Like there was some sort of plan to drop this bomb at the meeting a fortnight ago, then to have all these ducks in a row so quick sounds sketchy to me.. Then we get bury putting out alll this info, from phelan, and so on.. I think Streit fell into a political trap set up by Phelan, Bury and his crew... This reeks of a good old fashioned Ambush. I hope The Mayor and his allies aren't so guliable in the future to thing the Public Works, who is getting the work done could handle the contract process and make a recommendation. However this played out Mayor Heilmann and his allies better watch there backs, follow every procedure to the letter of the law, because this will be the result going forward.... Again, non of this is fact but something to think about if you're the mayor and his party..

Mr.Streit who normally is the acuser in these arguments was caught with his hand in the taxpayers pants and he showed himself to be a very bad liar.

Our mayor and his hand puppets were just as bad. It was so obvious that the mayor was lying that even his normal confused about the whole thing act, didn't work.

The only new information here is that Larry Deetjen is apparently admitting that he doesn't manage his departments well. If the Public Works guys did something wrong or the attorney screwed up then that falls on the manager, who runs the operation. Maybe he should take the heat like a man and quit blaming his employees

I agree with JoenotMoe, which i said a few weeks ago. The report on this at the meeting should have been that staff recommends a re-bid (not approving a bidder and now rescinding it). Basically what they did Tuesday should have been done two weeks ago.

Dave made big mistake partnering up with Bob. Cindy is absolutely clueless. Look at Alex's face when she speaks. Even he sees the humor in it. Carol still has nothing to say. Tom P needs to stop with the documents, color coded or not! So tired of his ranting and raving. Tom D needs coffee.

You claim Phelan set this up, but all he did was let Streit do all the behind the scenes manipulation, and then call him on it. Streit set himself up by getting involved in a process he had no right to be involved in and having his brother do an inspection on a job that is normally done by a bi-partisan engineer.

For all the accusations he has spewed out in the past that had no merit, it actually was fun watching him try to weasle his way out of this trap he set for himself.

Best drama on TV " As the Village Turns ". Bad actors all, but a lot of comedic moments !

To all the people who think there wasn't a deal between Bob and Dave.....
On Sept.14th Dave Heilamn and Bob Streit called a meeting with the devlopers of the Beatty Lumber Property to discuss Heilman's SECRET PLAN to put a Wellness/Senior/Community Center in their development in partnership with Christ Hospital. Guess wh was at the meeting? Streit's long-time political attorney and business partner Dennis Brennan. Guess why he was at the Meeting? Becauswe Sreit and Heilmann told the developers to hire Brennan as thier attorney.despite the fact that he has no real estate development law experience.
Then on Sept. 19thAT 11:19 am Dennis Brennan sent Dave Heilmann an email about Heilmann's SECRET plan and asked Heilmann to review the attached information about the " CenterPoint Development " and provide Brennan with feedback.
But when Heilmann was asked by trustees at a recent village Board Meeting why Brennan was involved in the development he replied " I don't know " and told the newspapers the same thing.
Chicago tribune columnist John Kass has great word for this: Fedheimer's ( pronounced Fed-hyme-rz ). Kass describes it a strange mental condition that causes a mayor's brain to flush important stuff right out of his head,including facts,and it is triggered by federal investigators hunting political corruption at City Hall..
