The junior varsity team wrapped up its season by winning the South Suburban Red conference tournament at Elmar Bowl in Burbank. The next-generation Spartans finished with a pinfall total of 5,541 for six games.
Freshman Cody Bulow was the individual medalist in the JV conference tournament. Freshman Ryan Kirby followed hot on his heels in second place. Sophomore Matt VanDerGriend also earned all-conference honors after finishing eighth.
“I was extremely proud of our JV team for staying competitive all day and supporting each other to the finish,” Oak Lawn coach Kevin McKeown said in a news release. “They worked the entire season on bowling clean games and picking up spares and it paid off.”
