Ridgeland School Dist. 122 and Oak Lawn-Hometown Dist. 123 will both be holding kindergarten registration this month.

Dist. 122’s attendance area is bounded by the west side of Central Avenue, to the east side of Harlem Avenue, and from the south side of 87th Street to the north side of 103rd Street. 

The Dist. 123 boundaries are Pulaski Road on the east, 107th Street on the south, Central Avenue on the west and 87th Street on the north.

Dist. 123 – Feb. 15

Kindergarten registration for students new to Dist. 123 is scheduled 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15. Registration will be in the gym at Hometown Elementary School, 8870 S. Duffy Ave., Hometown.

Registration is by appointment only. To set up a time, contact the D123 registrar at (708) 857-5020.

A kindergarten registration packet must be completed and the required documentation collected before scheduling an appointment.

Children must be five years old by Sept. 1. An original copy of the student’s birth certificate and proof of residency in the district are required.

In addition to Hometown, the Dist. 123 elementary schools are Sward, Kolmar, Covington and Hannum.

Dist. 122 – Feb. 25 to March 1

Registration for Ridgeland School Dist. 122 kindergarten takes place from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 2:30 p.m., Feb. 25 through March 1.

Enrollment for the 2013-14 kindergarten classes will be at the student’s home school. The D122 elementary schools include Columbus-Manor, Kolb, Harnew and Lieb.

Families with children enrolled in the preschool or early childhood programs are not required to attend. Registration forms will be sent home with your child through their classroom teacher. 

Parents must bring their child’s original birth certificate and their drivers license or state ID. Fees will be paid at a later date and time.

To be eligible for Kindergarten, a child must be five years old on or before September 1, 2013.
