Police: Adults Shoplifted With 5 Kids in Tow

Adults were hiding merchandise in baby stroller and shopping bags while with five children under the age of 6, cops say.

A Chicago man and woman were charged earlier this month with retail theft and other offenses after reportedly stealing $558 worth of children’s clothing at Target.

Brittany S. Wilson, 23, of the 7500 block of South Eberhart in Chicago, was issued a village citation for retail theft while Theric L. Marion, 23, of the 800 block of East 100th Street in Chicago, was charged with retail theft and possession of a controlled substance.

Oak Lawn Police were on an unrelated call at Target at 4120 W. 95th St. around 12:15 p.m. June 10 when a loss prevention officer notified them of a theft in progress.

According to the loss prevention officer, Wilson and Marion were spotted on video surveillance selecting children’s clothing and concealing it in Target shopping bags and a baby stroller.

Police said that Wilson’s five young children, all younger than age 6, were with the adults. The two walked past the registers with the children in tow and got onto the store elevator without paying for the merchandise, reports said.

The officers said they were on the first floor waiting for Wilson and Marion when they got off the elevator. Police said they both admitted to the theft and handed over the stolen merchandise.

Police began to search Marion, who said, “I have a bag of weed in my pocket,” according to the report.

Wilson was released with a village citation. Marion was taken to the Oak Lawn police station, where police said the contents of the baggie tested positive for 14.5 grams of pot.

Marion is due back in court later this month.

Pretty sad situation when these children have no chance in life being raised by these lowlifes.. Had a similar situation at our garage sale with 3 adult women and 4 children First my wife called out the lady on something you stashed in a bag but did pay for it when my wife asked her about.. As they left, 2 of them blocked my view and I could no longer see one of the boys who was having a staring contest with me and some item on the table..I walked over behind and just stood right there and watch him shake. I stared at the 2 ladies and shook my head in disbelief.. They put their heads down and rushed back to their vehicles..I really feel sorry for these kids.. As far as the adults, I hope you read this.. You are one of the lowest form of human life...Grow up and mature to give your kids a chance!!
