POLICE BLOTTER: Missing Prescription Pad, Bar Spittle and More
Oak Lawn police reports, January 13 through January 24.
TUESDAY, JANUARY 24
‘One Pill Makes You Smaller’
An employee of a medical office reported that she received a fax from Walgreens, 4400 W. 95th St., of a prescription made out to a woman with an Oak Lawn address for 60 pills of oxymorphine. An unknown subject brought the prescription into Walgreens to be filled on Jan. 22 and was to pick it up on Jan. 24. The store did not fill the prescription. The store advised that the subject who brought the prescription in wanted to pay cash. The employee checked business records for the patient's name on the prescription but nothing came up. According to the report, someone has been attempting to fill counterfeit prescriptions using the medical office’s name on previous occasions, but this is the first time that a phony prescription was written on a legitimate medical office pad. The employee was not aware of any missing or stolen prescription pads. Police advised the medical office to conduct an inventory of its prescription pads. The employee said the clinic would sign a complaint should an arrest be made. Officers determined the address used on the prescription was also fake.

Disorderly Conduct at Bar
A 23-year-old man upset about not being served at the Goal Post, 5207 W. 95th St., was charged with disorderly conduct. Police said Jonathan Rizzo, 24, of the 9500 block of South 54th Avenue, stumbled into the bar demanding the drink. When the bartender refused to serve him because he appeared to be already intoxicated, Rizzo allegedly started spitting on the bar. When he was asked to leave, police said Rizzo picked up a bar stool and threw at the bar top. The officer who spoke to Rizzo said he could smell alcohol on the man’s breath. Rizzo refused to give the officer any information about the incident or his name, reports said. Asked a second time for his name, police said Rizzo began screaming obscenities and calling officers derogatory names. Rizzo has a court appearance on Feb. 27.
FRIDAY JANUARY 13
Target Cashier Accused of Theft
A cashier who issued herself a gift card and then threw away the receipt was charged with theft, reports said. Police were dispatched to Target at 4120 W. 95th St. around 12:24 p.m. in response to an employee in custody. Store security told police that Alicia K, Battle, 23, of the 10900 block of South Prospect Avenue in Chicago, was captured on video purchasing the gift card and throwing away the receipt, reports said. Battle placed the gift card on top of her cash register, then allegedly concealing under paperwork. Police said that Battle took the gift card and according to store records, used it to make a purchase of $81 on Jan. 10. She allegedly used the card a second time on the same day to make a purchase of $7.17. She also used her store ID number while making the purchase, reports said. Police said that Battle signed a statement admitting to the act. She was charged with theft. Her employment was also terminated in the presence of police. Police told her that she was no longer allowed at Target and would be charged with criminal trespass if she returned. Telling officers that her car and personal belongings were left at the store, police said Battle could return to get to store to get them but needed to contact the store manager first for permission. Her next court appearance is on March 6.
