UPDATE: Tinley Park's Gunther Gets the Biggest Roar from the Crowd

Tinley Park softball standout Alyssa Gunther is swinging a red hot bat for the Titans. And she's swinging for the fences in Patchland, too. Gunther outpolled 10 others in Patch's weekly MVP poll. She is now eligible for May Athlete of the Month recognitio

Who gets the biggest roar from the crowd this week?
Andrew senior badminton standout Renee Olson defeated Downers Grove North's Amanda Schneeweis 21-12, 21-10 to win the single championship at the Andrew Sectional. Olson led the T-Bolts to a second-place finish with 13.5 points.
Marian Catholic's Nora Santschi scored two goals in the Spartans' 4-1 girls soccer victory over Crete-Monee.
Oak Forest sophomore Brian Richard had four hits, including three doubles, and drove in three runs in the Bengals' 9-0 victory over Shepard. He also pitched one inning of scoreless relief to gain the save in Oak Forest's 3-1 eight-inning victory over Crete-Monee.
Lincoln-Way East boys volleyball standout Nate Royer racked up 10 digs and seven kills in the Griffins' thrilling 25-19, 25-27, 15-11 victory over district rival Lincoln-Way North in the championship match of the Lincoln-Way East Invitational. Royer was named as the tournament's MVP.
Bloom Township girls soccer standout Erika Garcia was a scoring machine in the Blazing Trojans' two victories. She scored three goals in an 8-0 win over Rich Central. Garcia pumped in four more goals in Bloom's 7-0 victory over Rich South.
