Public Safety Town Hall Set for Tuesday at Harnew School

Meeting will give residents a chance to ask police questions about neighborhood crime and sign up for Everbridge Emergency Alert system

 

Ridgeland Dist. 122 is sponsoring a public safety town hall meeting at Harnew Elementary School on Tuesday, Jan. 29. The meeting starts at 7 p.m.

Oak Lawn police will take questions from the public as well as sign residents up for the village’s Everbridge Emergency Alert system.

The meeting is the latest in a series of town halls hosted by Mayor Dave Heilmann. Past meetings have been productive and police forthcoming in addressing residents' questions and concerns.

Computers will also be available where residents can sign up to receive emergency alerts on their LAND lines or by text on their mobile phones.

Harnew is located at 9101 Meade Ave. All Oak Lawn reisdents are invited to come.

Mr. Mayor, I would like to make a suggestion for the meeting. I attended the one at Covington school and it was not very effective. Please, hold ALL the audience questions and stories until AFTER you have finished your presentation. Some of the attendees stories rolled on and on for 10 minutes or more. The police chief and others had not even started their talk before I tossed in the towel and left.
