Pumpkin Patch Returns to Oak Lawn

The Great Pumpkin is alive and well--and he's camped out at the First United Methodist Church of Oak Lawn.

The First United Methodist Church's Pumpkin Patch is now open daily from 10 a.m. to dusk through Oct. 31.

In case this doesn't make the Oak Lawn Village Board's parish reports, the First United Methodist Church of Oak Lawn has opened its pumpkin patch this week and is selling a amazing selection of pumpkins and gords.

Pumpkins range in price from 50-cents to $30 for the huge granddaddies. Beautiful gords of all shapes, sizes and colors are ready to purchase for your fall harvest centerpiece.

The good people of First United Methodist are also selling homemade scarecrows, crafts and baked goods.

There are activities for kids, tractor hay rides and a giant leaf pile to jump into. Of course, you can buy your pumpkins at Jewel or Home Depot, but it won't be nearly as much fun as the Methodists' pumpkin patch.

Oak Lawn Patch gives the First United Methodist Church's Pumpkin Patch a big thumbs up! Proceeds from pumpkin sales benefit the church's ministries, which means you can help out your neighbors while having fun.

The First United Methodist Church of Oak Lawn is located at 10000 S. Central Ave. It's open every day through Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to dusk. If you haven't carved your jack o' lantern yet, get it at the Pumpkin Patch, no relation to Oak Lawn Patch.
