RNC Jockeying Raises Question: Who's the Best GOP Nominee for Illinois Governor?

More than a half-dozen gubernatorial wannabes work the room at the Republican National Convention this week. Who would you like to see make a run for governor?

While the main events at the Republican National Convention centered around Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, a subtle undercard was the jockeying of would-be GOP candidates for Illinois governor, the Chicago Tribune reports.

State Treasurer Dan Rutherford was "highly visible" at the RNC in Tampa, according to the Tribune article by Rick Pearson. Rutherford heads up the Romney campaign in Illinois.

Kirk Dillard of Hinsdale, who finished a close second to Bloomington's Bill Brady in the 2010 primary race for governor, has been a prominent face, as well. Dillard wasn't a delegate, but he made the trip to Tampa, just the same.

Other gubernatorial wannabes mentioned in the Tribune article include U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock of Peoria, state Sen. Christine Radogno of Lemont and Bruce Raunere, chairman of the private equity firm GTCR

She won't run but I'd say Judy Baar Topinka. She should have beaten Blago in his last charade. Er, win.

I have been a resident of The Peoples Republic of Illinois for over 50 years. Everyone knows this is the most corrupt state in the union. Chicago politics runs the state as shown by the last gubenatorial election. When all counties except three elected Ryan and in the end it was Quinn and the Chicago Machine that won the day. Part of the blame for this is the lack of effort on the part of the RNC to support their candidate. Illinois' foregone conclusion is that it is and will continue to be a "fly-over" state by the RNC. Illinois is tattooed BLUE as long as the Chicago Gangsters run the show. Chicago has gotten it's claws dug firmly into Washington DC. In Illinois we have become at worst, a joke when it comes to voter fraud! Even the dead get to vote but... they do NOT get a choice as to their party afiliation.
Who should be the next Republican Candidate for Illinois Governor? Does it matter? I Mean, look at the last Chicago Mayoral election. Rahm was sent back here by Obama to take the place of Daley. It was a foregone conclusion who would be mayor in the election. Rahm was designated the job my The Master of Deception, Comrade Commissar Obama. I don't trust anything out of Illinois with the exception of my wife and point of aim.
