The Best Cheeseburger in Oak Lawn: You Decide

Help us decide who serves up the best cheeseburger in town.

It’s time for another Chowdown Showdown, our weekly feature that will not only give you great ideas on where to eat, but will allow you to tell everyone why your favorite restaurant is the best.

The Chowdown Showdown pits PalosEvergreen Park and Oak Lawn restaurants against each other to decide who makes a particular dish best. Before the competition starts, we need your ideas on who our Oak Lawn representative should be.

READ: Super Subs: Who Makes the Best Subs?

This week's feature focuses in on cheeseburgers, that flat patty of hamburger meat topped off with cheese, onion, relish, ketchup and mustard. We want you to tell us who puts together the best example of this delicacy. The local winner will then go on to face Palos and Evergreen Park.

While you are free to leave reviews and comments in support of chains like McDonald's, Burger King and Smashburger, it is the mom-and-pop restaurants that we are most interested in and the winner will reflect that.

How to Vote

There are three ways to vote for your favorite.

  1. Leave a comment on this article and tell us your pick and why you think they are the best.
  2. Find your pick in our Oak Lawn Directory and leave a review and tell the world just how good their burgers are.
  3. Go to the Oak Lawn Patch Facebook Page and tell us your pick.

Get your votes in by Monday at 10 a.m. We will announce the winner and share the results of our taste test on Wednesday.

That's Not All . . .

Oak Lawn Patch's Directory allows you to leave reviews of your all your favorite place in town. From auto shops to eye doctors, hot dog stands to churches, find them in the directory and tell everyone why they are great.

BJ's it is. I am a large man and the 1/2 lb burger is more than enough for me. And I can get it medium rare. Bartenders are pros.

Andy, I have to disagree somewhat. The food at Fatso's is not good - it's great.

BJ McMahons has the best big burger in town. You do have to be patient for it to be prepared though. It takes them time to cook and build that fantastic monster burger.

I was there a couple of times and the staff on the phone was extremely rude and one time I had to wait 1 hr. for my burger.Krauss's is very pleasant and polite.
They give you so much at a good price you are full all day!

Comic Relief, I'll put you down in the Deja Brew column but your comment about the other restaurant sounded vaguely like viral marketing, so I deleted it. Now I must go moderate myself.
