The Best Omelet in Oak Lawn: You Decide

Help us decide who makes the best omelet in town.

It’s time for another Chowdown Showdown, our new weekly feature that will not only give you great ideas on where to eat, but will allow you to tell everyone why your favorite restaurant is the best.

The Chowdown Showdown pits Evergreen Park, Palos and Oak Lawn restaurants against each other to decide who makes a particular dish best. Before the competition starts, we need your ideas on who our Oak Lawn representative should be.

This week's showdown features just in time for Mother's Day that fresh breakfast dish -- the omelet. I want you to tell me who makes the best omelet in town. The winner then will go on to face the best of Evergreen and Palos.

How to Vote

There are three ways to vote for your favorite.

  1. Leave a comment on this article and tell us your pick and why you think they are the best.
  2. Find your pick in our O-L Patch Places Directory and leave a review and tell the world just how good their hot dogs are.
  3. Go to the O-L Patch Facebook Page and tell us your pick.

Get your votes in by Monday at 10 a.m. We will announce the winner and share the results of our taste test on Wednesday.

That's Not All . . .

The Oak Lawn Patch Places Directory allows you to leave reviews of your all your favorite place in town. From auto shops to eye doctors, hot dog stands to churches, find them in the directory and tell everyone why they are great.

I have been in love with the omelets at Jedi (SW HWY & Cicero) since they opened their doors. Always light, fluffy and stuffed with fresh veggies, meats and cheeses. I am not a morning person on the weekends, but I will make the effort to get to Jedi's.

Not a fan of fluffy omelets, Huck Finns serves th old fashioned grilled which has much more flavor.

OAK LAWN RESTAURANT'S omelets are the best!! My favorite is the spinach and feta omelet. They use fresh spinach and the feta is always melted perfectly.

I've had Omelets virtually everywhere in Oak Lawn that serves them at almost all hours of the day. I think it would be better to vote on the best omelet at 2 am, 8 am and sometime there after. I think the last great late night omelet was at Huck Finn. It was a nice flirt with my youthful past.

I will definitely check out huck finn's omelet now. I haven't been there in years. We make them at home at least once a week because we HATE big fluffy omelets.

I think that the omelets at Huck Finn are the BESTto say the least. They are always done to perfection and are not the big fluffy ones that you get at other places. I think that they make the best Denver omelet in all of Oak Lawn.
