The Oak Lawn Rotary Club sponsored its second annual golf ball drop at Stony Creek Golf Course.
The highlight of the Oak Lawn Chamber's golf outing last Wednesday was the Oak Lawn Rotary Club's second annual golf ball drop from a helicopter.

Balls were numbered and sold for a sawbuck. Whichever ball landed closest to the hole at Stony Creek Golf Course was the winner. The ball dropper was Adam Woodworth, president of the Oak Lawn Rotary Club and executive director of the Children's Museum. This year, there were two holes in one.

Proceeds from ball sales are going toward various Rotary community service projects, the main project being a new handicapped accessible playground for the Oak Lawn Park District.

As I recall from last year, this is a fundraiser. Golf balls are sold and the people who have their ball number closest to the hole win a prize. The club raises money for various needs like homeless shelters, scholarships, and Park Lawn.
