Women Spew Obscenities, Fight Hooters Staff, Cops Say

Women yelled and cursed staff, refused to pay bill after being caught dining and dashing, police say.

Two women face charges following a spree of disorderly behavior at Hooters, reports said.

Oak Lawn police reported to a disturbance at 9139 S. Cicero Ave., around 11:50 p.m. Aug. 31. When they arrived at the restaurant, police said they were met by the manager and encountered two women yelling at another Hooters employee.

The manager told police that the women, identified as Chantell D. Bunkley, 25, and Nicole Bunkley, 34, allegedly walked out of the restaurant without paying their bill. Police said Hooters employees chased down the women and brought them back inside the restaurant.

There, the women refused to pay the bill and began yelling obscenities at the manager and his employee, the report said.

Officers said that Nicole and Chantell Bunkley went off on the manager, threatening him as well as swearing and yelling at the customers.

According to the report, the manager said that as Chantell was yelling and pointing at him, she poked his face.

A male companion who was both women tried to pay the restaurant tab in cash, but that Chantell grabbed the money out of the employee’s hand and refused to give it back, police said. The man eventually paid the bill with a credit card.

After the bill was paid, both women refused to leave the restaurant, police said. The Bunkleys were arrested and taken into custody.

Chantell admitted to pointing her finger at the manager’s face, but she denied poking him, police said.

As both women were being taken into custody, police found two bottles of Hooters’ hot sauce in Chantell Bunkley’s purse, reports said. The merchandise was returned to the manager.

Both women were told they were no longer welcome at Hooters and that they would be charged with criminal trespassing if they returned, police said.

Upon arrival at the Oak Lawn police station, the arresting officer said that Chantell had wiggled her way of out the handcuffs and had to be re-constrained in the station garage.

Chantell Bunkley, a resident of Hanover Park, and Nicole Bunkley, of Chicago, were charged with disorderly conduct. Both are to appear in court on Oct. 22 at the Bridgeview Court House.

If they don't have a security guard on duty yet, they sure need one..If you have one fire him and hire somebody that can handle crowd control for "city folk!" I very seldom go to that location specifically because of the clientele. They have no respect for other customers and continue yelling and laughing like they're outside..Maybe they should post some dining rules to follow and most wouldn't come back! THEN POSSIBLY THE LOCAL RESIDENTS COULD ENJOY A MEAL WITHOUT DEALING WITH THE DISORDERLY AND SOMETIMES DANGEROUS CROWD!! THIS SHOULD BE HANDLED BY THE MANAGEMENT NOW!!!

Pat: I totally agree with you. I don't particularly care for Hooters but its terrible that people that do want to go have to put up with that kind of situation.

This place has more (published) trouble than the motel across the street. I wonder if Hooters is being sucked into that Bermuda Triangle in the area, with the mobile home park, liquor store and Midway Motor Inn.

I love that the employees chased them down and dragged their criminal asses back in! I don't frequent Hooters but I feel bad for the employees and manager who are trying to make a living. Throw the book at these low-lifes!

Ultimately, this is up to management to get security, make better food, etc...If they cannot, then they should go the way of Brunswick Zone.

Brunswick zone is no longer, thank god! Also let's not forget about our lovely TGI Fridays . The times I've been there it was like being at a obnoxious, loud feeding frenzy where the Chicago people can act like humans. I'll never go there again which sucks

Sorry, I meant that the " Chicago people" can't act like humans.

The comments about primates and African-Americans are racist comments and not acceptable in our community, in my opinion.

Jim, you may be correct but when anybody acts like a animal out in public they deserve such a verbal beating. As with oak lawn being unsafe to live, thats bogus. We have a nice south side community. If you live anywhere else, like Naperville or such suburbs, the heroin is crazy.

Drugs are everywhere....and oak lawn is changing. It used to be safe but all you read about lately are burglaries, gang meetings, vandalism, and stuff like this.
