Mary Kay Barton's got talent.

We all have a special gift. Some of us write symphonies, others poetry. Maybe you slay audiences on karaoke night at a local watering hole. Or perhaps your aunt entertains at family parties with a fruit basket on her head imitating Carmen Miranda?

Whatever your talent is, we want to hear from you. Patch will feature an Oak Lawn resident's talent every Sunday on "Oak Lawn's Got Talent."

Whether it's a creative keg stand, your kid twirling a baton or smacking a baseball, or your church choir—Patch will come by and shoot a video of that special someone’s talent.

Send me an email at lorraine.swanson@patch.com.

Unbelievable! Mary Kay was fantastic in telling the story of how she and I grew up in Little Flower Parish hearing from our parents lips saying, "They say". Although we may have heard it, but others across the country and world, heard it too.
Congrats to Mary Kay! I laughed so hard listening to her tell her story of "they say". It brought back many fun memories of life on the southside of Chicago.

Mary Kay you are so funny! Only you could come up with a funny skit for two simple words "they say".
The two little words that our parents, our generation and our children use probably on a weekly basis without even thinking who "they" are. As a child - if I heard "they say" then it was true and I better do as "they say". Nice job!

I have it on good authority "THEY" said I won't dare. "THEY" were wrong!

And They said that the kids that sat on our side of the class room, " wouldn't amount to anything."
