Welcome back RedHawk Fans!
-The Marist football team traveled to neighborhood foe Brother Rice last Friday night. The atmosphere was electric on 99th and Pulaski thanks to a sold out crowd of 8800 people! The top ranked RedHawks rolled to a 49-35 victory behind a stellar performance by running back Peter Andreotti. The Junior from Western Springs rushed for 203 yards and 2 touchdowns on 20 carries. Ian Woodworth also paced the offense with a 21-36 performance for 192 yards and two touchdowns. The defense was led by senior defensive lineman Shannon Smith, who recorded 2.5 sacks.
The RedHawks travel to LaGrange on Saturday to take on defending conference co-champ Nazareth, in a matchup of unbeatens. Game time is 1:30pm, come support the REDHAWKS!
-The top ranked girls volleyball team finished off a great second week of play with victories over very talented Wheaton North and Whitney Young teams respectively. The girls travel to Elmhurst Wednesday night to take on the top ten ranked Dukes of York. Good Luck Ladies!
-The boys golf team earned a hard fought split with conference foes St Pats and St Viator. Coach Joel Vickers has the boys rounding into midseason form with the IHSA regionals a month away.
-The students will host a club fair this week to showcase of 34 different activities available to all Marist students. New clubs include Visual Broadcasting, led by alum Ryan Blake, as well as a fitness component to Intramurals which includes Yoga and Pilates.
-The top ranked Girls Cross Country team is coming off an invite championship held at Lyons this past weekend. The boys finished a solid 4th place finish in the boys side of the event. Best of luck to the Runnin' RedHawks!
-Marist Judo kicked off its third year this week. It's an eight week course offered for kids familiar or new to the sport. Taught by Marist Alum and USA Judo certified instructor Glenn Rusco.
