Stones, this was basically in response to andy complaining about other people using the sameRead Moretactics as he does when it comes to Oak Lawn politics. It was OK for him but not you. So I told him it was like the pot calling the kettle black. When he continued complaining I shortened it to pot...kettle. He has since taken as his own and bastardized it to its present form, (kinda lazy if you ask me) and now he pretty much uses it as " I know you are but what am I? " Just ignore it. We all do.

I say it because it makes my buddy Luther mad because he or she is a hypocrite he or she complains Read Moreabout stuff only because his/her guy lost the last election and he or she can't believe it still a year later.. Pot = kettle all rights reserved!!!
Stones April 23, 2014 at 08:52 AM
Lost the last election? His/her? I don't know any girls named Luther, do you. Which side were youRead Moreon the last election? Or the one before that? Seems you switch teams more than a confused bi-sexual and everyone that posts on here knows that and the rest of your history and when they point that out, you accuse them of being someone else. It sounds like you need to find a hobby outside of the Patch or OL politics, which you're really not a part of anyway. To save you the trouble of a response, I'm not Dave/Bob/Denny. The name is Mike Staunton and the screen name is a nick name since about 3rd grade. I grew up in OL and still care about it enough to follow the local news.

BTW, that whole exchange between Mr Streit and the Mayor in which she referred to D3 as hisRead More"mi crocosm" and her assertion that she wants to be a "regional" leader: bad form, Mme Mayor. With as many issues as face this Village? I'd say there was more than a little Phelan/Deetjen language in that, except it sounds a fair amount like Rahm.
Luther April 18, 2014 at 10:39 AM
The Leaf it seems has really struck a nerve with the Mayor and her supporters. Even Phil KadnersRead Morecol umn yesterday, in my opinion, didn't work as well as they probably hoped. OLG, I agree that there are many other issues more important. The Mayor should start putting Oak Lawn First and leave worrying about the politics to her minions.

The problems ended Dave W when Sandra Bury got elected. NOT! The coverage ended of board meetingsRead Morebe cause the Patch did not like Dave Heilmann and the Editor recruited a north side consultant named Lauren Peters to run the Bury campaign. Since friend of the Patch Bury won everything is peaches and cream.

Our sources say Ozoneo is Erica Heilmann wife of the ex-mayor Dave Heilmann she has posted underRead Moreoth er names but was banned from Patch for abusive language Consider the source

It has been my experience on more than one occasion.....if the Oak Lawn Patch does not care for the Read Morecomment a resident has posted....it suddenly disappears. On more than one occasion I have posted my witness account to circumstances that were falsely reported. When I commented that the story was untrue, my comment was deleted. There were no derogatory statements made, no vulgar language, no violations of social media etiquette. My comments were strictly the truth which contradicted that of the reporter. It is dissapointing to have first hand knowledge of political plagerism. I no longer have faith in any subject matter that is posted in social media. It is no more than vigilante justice orchestrated by the misguided.

We are trying to pay back the community for helping our son Scotty, get an adaptive bike!! MyRead Morehusban d is a VOLUNTEER Special Olympics coach for the Oak Lawn Park District. All of these boys are on his basketball & softball team. These boys have taught me so much, patience, understanding, & even when you are having a bad day you get up & go!! These boys deserve the joy of bike riding! Scotty has his bike and that is why I am continuing this! The next child after Anthony is Josh! The best part of how this is set up is once 1 child gets their bike, the surplus donated goes to the next child! Remember everything donated is 100% tax deductible, because this is going thru a non profit organization. If you can not donate please at least share this & ask others to do the same! If you have any questions please just ask. Thank you from the bottom of our special needs hearts! http://www.gofundme.com/83bxqs

Go to the village website and look under tab for Economic Development. You will see info. aboutRead Morethe O.L.J.P.. Fill out and submit an application. Please do not make this a political. I volunteer on committee and do not get paid. This is not a promise of a job. It is only a way of networking that sometime helps in the employment process. Counting the days until I retire to my Wisconsin home, where the taxes are realistic, and theRead Morepoliti cal climate seems to be less dirty. Call me an idealist, but but the meanness of some of these comments makes me cringe, why the hate and rancor? So long as civility is absent, so too will be compromise and improvement.
OakLawnGuy April 07, 2014 at 01:21 PM
2014 politics is completely polarized, and people tend to take opposing views personally. NotRead Moreexcus ing it, just observing the climate.
