Nice job being an ass again Andy... Time for some new friends!!! Stop being such a follower forRead Morethes e village people...

Yes, because the editor isn't biased here.... (That was sarcasm Andy)

Andy....and what is that going to do? Apparently, you think I am 1) a liar and 2) not who I say IRead Moream so are you going to actually believe what is printed or say its altered in some way? I'm going with the second option since your proving you don't believe anything anyone says. It's not someone like YOU I need to prove my point to. It's people who ACTUALLY CARE what's happened and want to see something done. I will make my call public record and hopefully others who experienced the same crap will do the same and this horrible problem can somehow be fixed! Everyone's eyes should have been opened with the incident at the school, unfortunately some people (like you) think that's not a big deal! I hope to god you don't have kids and have to worry like those parents did! Sad.

BTW, that whole exchange between Mr Streit and the Mayor in which she referred to D3 as hisRead More"mi crocosm" and her assertion that she wants to be a "regional" leader: bad form, Mme Mayor. With as many issues as face this Village? I'd say there was more than a little Phelan/Deetjen language in that, except it sounds a fair amount like Rahm.
Luther April 18, 2014 at 10:39 AM
The Leaf it seems has really struck a nerve with the Mayor and her supporters. Even Phil KadnersRead Morecol umn yesterday, in my opinion, didn't work as well as they probably hoped. OLG, I agree that there are many other issues more important. The Mayor should start putting Oak Lawn First and leave worrying about the politics to her minions.

Kind of rare to find Oak Lawn-centric news on Patch anymore...must not be any problems left inRead Moretown, huh?

Andy aka Tom Phelan you are one sick calf.
Jacob Matthews April 16, 2014 at 07:21 PM
It has been my experience on more than one occasion.....if the Oak Lawn Patch does not care for the Read Morecomment a resident has posted....it suddenly disappears. On more than one occasion I have posted my witness account to circumstances that were falsely reported. When I commented that the story was untrue, my comment was deleted. There were no derogatory statements made, no vulgar language, no violations of social media etiquette. My comments were strictly the truth which contradicted that of the reporter. It is dissapointing to have first hand knowledge of political plagerism. I no longer have faith in any subject matter that is posted in social media. It is no more than vigilante justice orchestrated by the misguided.

We are trying to pay back the community for helping our son Scotty, get an adaptive bike!! MyRead Morehusban d is a VOLUNTEER Special Olympics coach for the Oak Lawn Park District. All of these boys are on his basketball & softball team. These boys have taught me so much, patience, understanding, & even when you are having a bad day you get up & go!! These boys deserve the joy of bike riding! Scotty has his bike and that is why I am continuing this! The next child after Anthony is Josh! The best part of how this is set up is once 1 child gets their bike, the surplus donated goes to the next child! Remember everything donated is 100% tax deductible, because this is going thru a non profit organization. If you can not donate please at least share this & ask others to do the same! If you have any questions please just ask. Thank you from the bottom of our special needs hearts! http://www.gofundme.com/83bxqs

Go to the village website and look under tab for Economic Development. You will see info. aboutRead Morethe O.L.J.P.. Fill out and submit an application. Please do not make this a political. I volunteer on committee and do not get paid. This is not a promise of a job. It is only a way of networking that sometime helps in the employment process. Make sure you mentioned ANY experience and hobbies.

Counting the days until I retire to my Wisconsin home, where the taxes are realistic, and theRead Morepoliti cal climate seems to be less dirty. Call me an idealist, but but the meanness of some of these comments makes me cringe, why the hate and rancor? So long as civility is absent, so too will be compromise and improvement.
OakLawnGuy April 07, 2014 at 01:21 PM
2014 politics is completely polarized, and people tend to take opposing views personally. NotRead Moreexcus ing it, just observing the climate.

Evergreen Park used to have a real good camera shop right on 95th between Pulaski and Central Park. Read MoreI don't remember their name or know if it's still there or not. There's also Wolf camera in Orland square mall in Orland Park. A little closer than La Grange.
Steve Neuhaus April 04, 2014 at 07:34 AM
Wolf and Ritz closed the Orland Park store.

Years ago I used to use a place downtown, on Dearborn St., called Great Lakes Camera Repair (orRead MoreServ ice). I don't think they exist anymore. There is, however, a place on Wabash Ave in the Loop (sorry, I can't recall the name but you can find them via the Internet). Also, Nikon operates its own repair facility and you can mail your camera to them. They have a phone line, too. Maybe the phone people could walk you through a fix that you can do yourself.

I'm curious...what types of things are they siting people for? I've never heard anything like thisRead Moreh appening to anyone in my area.

Talking to the mayor is useless as is the mayor. I already tried that. She's got her secretaryRead Morescree ning her calls, but again the more people complaining to their trustees and higher up officials and the media the better we will be. Even talking about it here is helping so every comment here helps too.
TheUNowen April 08, 2014 at 12:44 PM
Amanda just make sure you don't send that email at meal times, the mayor will be sampling more free Read Morefood of oak lawn! Same with calls, if its lunchtime don't even bother! Dinner time? Ha good luck! Snack time, forget it!
