The Oak Lawn Green Team is hosting a bicycle tour of Oak Lawn on Saturday, June 23. The tour is 8 to 10 miles long and winds down tree-lined streets past new and historic locations in the village.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Oak Lawn-Patriot Metra Station at 9525 S. Tulley Ave. The ride begins at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of a registration fee, non-perishable good items to be donated to local food pantries or a monetary gift to the Oak Lawn Rotary Club’s 9/11 First Responder Monument are gratefully accepted.

Children 17 years and under must ride with an adult. Helmets are required for all riders. Complimentary food and drinks for all riders will be served at the end of the tour at the Oak Lawn-Patriot Metra Station.

Spend the morning rediscovering Oak Lawn. Rumor has it that local history-buff Trustee Bob Streit (Dist. 3) will be wearing bike pants and leading a group.

Generous sponsors of the tour include Fairplay Foods and Complete Vision Care. For more info contact greenteam@oaklawn-il.gov or call 708-499-7750.
