Pink Heals Hosts Event with Advocate for Cancer Awareness

Plus garage and tent sales, a carnival and a movie in the park.

If you see pink fire trucks on Thursday, the Oak Lawn Fire Department didn't get a makeover; it's the Pink Heals health fair, and you and your family are welcome to join in on the fun.

The Pink Heals Tour's caravan of pink fire trucks promoting cancer awareness and celebrating cancer survivors will be at Oak Lawn Fire Station #3 at 9446 S. Raymond from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday.

Then head over to Advocate Christ Medical Center for the Pink Heals Tour and Health Fair from 3 to 7 p.m. at 93rd Street and Kilbourne Avenue. While the pink fire trucks and engines will be available for viewing, Advocate Christ is hosting a health fair in the auditorium.

The event will feature three speakers to talk about different types of cancer. In addition to the many efforts toward education and awareness, today's event will also include yoga, Zumba, chair massages, free smoothie samples and child-friendly activities.

Come out and sign the pink fire trucks to leave a message of hope for cancer patients and survivors.
