Rock and Roll music is an American invention. Mix some delta blues,some jazz,and a pinch of country and you have Rock and Roll. Despite Americans inventing this music,Why are its best purveyors from Great Britain??? They took our music off the boats after World War Two,listened to it ,played it better and sent it back to us in a purified form. Since I'm a late 60's early 70's hard rock& heavy metal fan,all my favorite bands were British , Black Sabbath,Deep Purple,Led Zeppelin,Cream,Free, TheRolling Stones and The Who and even the Beatles who I don't consider hard rock but were still great. All from the small Island to the east of us England. Maybe these bands held the music in more reverence than the American kids did. Maybe most came from a poor working class background wanting to succeed, I don't know but all the best musicians from Clapton,Iommi,Page,Blackmore,Kossof,Bonham,Paice,Moon,Baker,Bruce,Jones,Jagger
Gillan,Daltrey, and Rodgers... All from England They may not like our version of Football, compared to their national sport of Football ( soccer ) but the Brits sure do like our Rock and Roll
