Your human algorithm has been hard at work this week and reporting on the man who was riding shirtless down the middle of 95th Street in what appeared to be a state of intoxication. Dog Eat Dog

As the owner of a small dog, I was very happy to hear that the had decided to test a small-dog section at Forty-five readers took our unscientific poll of what improvements they’d like to see made at the dog park: 17 readers wanted to see the small dog section become a permanent addition;15 would like to see more park staff visits to patrol unruly dogs and owners not paying attention because they’re too busy chatting on their cell phones; and two readers requested sticks to scrape the dog poop off their shows.

Ayrline -- "I still believe we have the best looking dog park in the area..."
"I still believe we have the dirtiest locker rooms (at the Pavilion) in the area"
"I still believe we have the sorriest excuse for tennis courts (103rd and Major) in the area" "I still believe.... oh forget it. It must be hard to walk your dog [park board president Mary Wallce] while patting yourself on the back for all your achievements (fictional or otherwise).

MP – “You mean people don't clean up after their own dogs? Who does?”

Diane Adamonis – “Now if we could just do something about people who walk their dogs without leashes and think THEIR dog will never misbehave. I was confronted by someone with 3 unleashed dogs yesterday morning who was still in denial as her dog became aggressive with mine who was leashed. Grrrrr....”

Advocate Hokey Pokey?

Just when we thought we were out, pulled us back, this time with “Phase II” of its $600 million expansion plan. With a nine-story outpatient pavilion under construction and a slew of parking garages, Advocate Christ has nine zoning variance petitions for a second tower on the table. Last week, the Oak Lawn Planning and Development Commission until the commission’s next meeting. Some village officials, including just want to make sure that taxpayers aren’t left holding the bag due to unforeseen flooding or utility blowouts. Meanwhile, Mayor Dave Heilmann was honored as “Outstanding Community Leader of the Year” at the hospital’s Salute gala benefit.

Connie Lemon – “Medical buildings bring paying consumers to our community. They eat at our restaurants, fill up with gas, stay in our hotels and shop at the stores in the area … We need to expand to avoid the back log of patients in the emergency room waiting for inpatient rooms and outpatient testing. Let's all see the bigger benefit to our community!”

Andy Skoundrianos – “I give credit to Trustee Duhig for standing up for residents and taxpayers and not knuckling under to Advocate like our Mayor did just because he got a stupid award from Advocate.”

Ginger – “Each time I've been there, I have been disappointed. It is disgusting. After a surgery, I ended up returning due to complications & to my surprise I had to wait the whole night in the hallway because gang bangers were being attended to …”

Bob Lanz (Oak Lawn firefighter) – “Christ does need a larger emergency room. As someone who spends as much time as I do there I see the overcrowding and desperate need for more beds, more nurses, and more resources. Christ ER often times goes on what is called bypass status, this means that if you as an OL resident are in need of an ambulance and we have to transport you to the hospital we cannot go to Christ we must divert to either Palos or Little Company of Mary.”

Sandra Bury – “In accepting this wonderful honor at a time when Advocate Christ Medical Center is in negotiations with the village, can any resident of Oak Lawn ever be really sure that Mayor Heilmann will be thinking of the taxpayers first … Mayor Heilmann should have politely declined this honor, due to it being a conflict of interest. If I lived in Crawford Gardens and I saw this photo, I would feel like my neighborhood was just thrown under the bus.”
