Battle of the Friday Night Lenten Fish Fries

Something's fishy in Oak Lawn and Hometown--and it's all good.

It's Friday night and it smells like fish. Patch visits three local parishes' Lenten fish fries and eats a lot of Alaskan pollock.

I'm going to have to start fish-fry hopping, too. Those dishes looked delicious!

Hungry,
I'll hop on over to St. Catherine's for your last fry. Who do I talk to at St. Catherine's about getting on their media list?

St. Louis de Montfort was the only one with a Fish Bake, a healthy alternative to fried foods, and real gourmet downtown chefs. The food was excellent quality, and generous quantity. Unfortunately, they only had a single Fish Bake rather than every week of Lent. But, I guess it may be a case of quality versus quantity. St. Albert's was good, unfortunately it was not included in the report. But, the other two included looked pretty delicious as well. It looks like Fish Bake/Fry hopping is the way to go during the season of Lent.

Re: Mother 24's final comment on food handlers hand washing, is there an ordinance requiring hotRead More water in restrooms.? Many have only cold water in both faucets or verrrryyyy slow to respond hot water faucets. This should be a point of inspection for the health inspector (s.) Phinnigin

Re:Phinnigin. I agree!! Most establishments do not have hot water in the restrooms!!! However, whyRead More can't restaurants install hand sanitizer behind the counter? The Popeye's in Burbank has a hand sanitizer installed behind the counter, but honestly, the employees hardly ever use it, which is why, after a horrible experience at that location last July, I have not patronized ANY Popeye's since!!!
