Brother Rice Grad Killed in Afghanistan
Marine Cpl. Conner Lowry, 24, of Beverly, died in Afghanistan on Thursday, the Chicago Tribune reports.

A family friend, sixth-grade teacher Christine McElroy at Christ the King School, and her students were preparing to send Lowry a care package for St. Patrick's Day, according to the Southtown-Star.
The Marine corporal was attending the University of Iowa when he enlisted in the military. His family said he had been in Afghanistan since October.
