Church to Offer Indoor Restrooms for South Side Irish Parade-goers

Beverly Covenant Church will match tradition with tradition. For the 15th year, the church invites spectators to stop in, enjoy a clean restroom, and have a snack.

If you love a good parade, but you're not a fan of porta-potties, you're in luck.

Beverly Covenant Church, 10545 S. Claremont, will open its doors—and bathrooms—to revelers during the South Side Irish Parade on Sunday, March 16. They'll even throw in snacks, warm or cold drinks (depending on weather), and a place to hang out.

A pre-parade church service for families will be held at 9 a.m. The church will then be open from 11 a.m. until about one hour after the end of the parade. The church has been open during the parade for more than 15 years.

“It’s an opportunity for us to reach out to our neighbors and all who come from across the city to celebrate the day,” said Rev. Donald Nelson.

For more information, call the church office at 773-445-4319 or check out its website.
