HAIRBALL: A TRIBUTE TO ‘80s ROCK LEGENDS

Where/When: 115 Bourbon Street, 3359 W. 115th St., Merrionette Park, on Friday, March 25, 10 p.m.

Why Go: A chance to see (kind of, anyhow) KISS, Guns ‘n Roses, Whitesnake, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Ozzy, AC/DC, Journey and Poison all on the same bill.

Pricing: $5 cover after 8 p.m.

 

MIKE TOOMEY COMEDY SHOW

Where/When: Riddles Comedy Club, 5055 W. 111th St., Alsip, Friday and Saturday, March 25-26, at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. each night.

Why Go: You might know him as WGN Morning News sports anchor Skip Parker. A comedian since 1982, Toomey has appeared in concert with Wayne Newton, Crosby, Stills and Nash, and Reba McIntire. He has also been featured on MTV’s Half Hour Comedy Hour and AE’s Comedy on the Road.

Pricing: $12.50, 2-drink minimum

 

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE

Where/When: Oak View Center, 4625 W. 110th St., Oak Lawn. March 25-26, at 8 p.m.; 3 p.m. March 27.

Why go: The Drowsy Chaperone is Oak Lawn Park District's first 2011 production and is set in the year 1928. This fantasy play-within-a-play first opened in 1998 in Toronto and went on to win several Tony awards in New York.

Pricing: Adults: $21; seniors, students and children under 12: $20 .

 

SXU 8TH ANNUAL HEALTH FAIR

Where/when: Saint Xavier University, Shannon Center, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago. 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 25.

Why go: Attendees can receive free screenings and testing services for blood pressure, bone density, hearing and vision screenings, foot screenings, cervical spine screenings, blood glucose screenings, injury assessments, postural assessment, shoe assessments and more. Reflexology, hand massages, and mini chair massages also will be offered for free.

Pricing: Can’t beat free.

 

WOMEN'S GUILD LENTEN FISH FRY

Where/when: Our Lady of Loretto, 8925 S Kostner Ave, Hometown, at 4:00 p.m. –7:00 p.m., March 25.

Why go: The Our Lady of Loretto Women’s Guild will hold fish fries on Fridays through April 15 in the parish hall. Fish, meatless pasta and a bake sale by “Loretto’s Luscious Creations” will be available at the fish fries. For information, call (708) 424-7471.

Pricing: $7.50 for the fish; $5 for the meatless pasta.
