Family Carnival Benefit for Abby Wujcik This Saturday

Family, friends and neighbors are hosting a benefit this Saturday (July 14) for Kolmar School first-grader diagnosed with brain cancer.

Abby Wujcik is a young girl who is loved so much that her family, friends, neighbors and even total strangers have formed an army in her honor.

This Saturday, “We R Abby’s Army” is hosting a family carnival benefitting the first-grader who was diagnosed in May with high-grade astrocytoma, a form of brain cancer. Treatment of the disease includes surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy.

“An Afternoon With Abby” features games for children, music, food, drink, bake sale, a raffle and a silent auction.  The carnival takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at at 5345 W. 99th St. (99th Street and 54th Avenue).

The fundraiser will help Abby’s family with expenses during her medical treatment. If you have money or prizes you’d like to donate for the carnival, raffle or silent auction, drop the items off at OLHMS on Saturday morning.

The carnival should be fun for family members of all ages in addition to helping a very brave little girl.

Unite for the Gift

For the precious child we know, for the one we'll soon meet
For our family, for our friends, for the child down our own street
Let us know her true gift, let us be touched by her grace
Let us feel the peace in her heart and the steady of her pace
See the purity of her smile, see the love in her eyes
See the depth of her passion with each tear she may cry
Hear the strength in her words, hear the trust in her speech
Hear her tell others her story and lessons she'll teach
It will be us, who will learn from the greatness of one
It will be us who will learn, to fight and not run
So, let the endowment be hers, to inspire and uplift
So, let it then be on us, to except her gift
To fight for a purpose, to fight for what's real
To fight for the love that we all want to feel
Let us unite then as one, on this day make a plea
To show appreciation for the gift, that is seen in Abby

Last night this little girl lost her life to brain tumor. This morning she became an angle and I know that she will be looking over all the people she knows and her family who has been staying strong ever since she was diagnosed. Now Abby is in a better place without pain. We all love you Abby and give support and a shoulder to her family RIP Abby. You don't have to be scared anymore. ():)
