Father Malcolm Is Blessing Pull Tabs At St. Gerald Fest

We’re sure that the 2013 edition of St. Gerald’s Fest wasn’t Father Malcolm’s first carnival, but more like his 50th or 60th.

Patch was posting and going this weekend at the well-oiled St. Gerald Fest and Carnival. Saturday’s main act was the Hat Guys, and even though we didn’t win one of the liquor baskets in the three-tickets-for-a-buck raffle we had a wonderful time. (Memo to self: You parked your car at BJ McMahon’s.) A devoted reader told us that he won $20 off a pull tab that he purchased from Father Malcolm.

We found easy parking about a block away from St. Gerald’s, even though we asked a responsible designated driver to take us home.

Great parish food tent managed by the crack team of St. Gerald’s parishioners.

After building the Jonathon Collins Activity Center in record time, funded largely by the annual parish carnival, St. Gerald’s is raising money to buy sports equipment.

Our only complaint about St. Gerald Fest was that it was too bright in the food/entertainment area. Please kill the light on east side of the parish school.

The popular parish carnival continues on Sunday, from noon to 10 p.m. St. Gerald’s is located at 93rd Street/Southwest Highway and Central Avenue.

Infinity, the ultimate Journey tribute band, performs Sunday at 7 p.m.
