Flash Flood Warning In Effect for Oak Lawn

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Southeastern Cook County effective until noon Thursday.

Runoff from Wednesday afternoon’s torrential downpours and more rain forecasted for Thursday is posing a flash flood threat to southeastern Cook County until noon, according to the National Weather Service

Much of the warning area has already received between 1 and 3 inches of rainfall during the day Wednesday, with the potential for another 1 to 2 inches through Thursday. Areas that may experience flooding includ Alsip and Blue Island.

Thursday's forecast calls for more heavy rain of possibly one to two inches, as another line of thunderstorms is expected to move through the area, with highes reaching 72 degrees. You may want to keep the thunder shirt out for the dog.
