If you're without air conditioning or your unit is broken, Oak Lawn's cooling centers are open.
Don't forget to check your neighbors and loved ones, especially the elderly and disabled persons. Offer them a ride to a cooling center or better yet, invite them over for dinner. Keep an eye on young children and pets, too.
If you see a person in distress from the heat on the street, particularly the homeless, call 911.
