Start planning your pet’s outfit and grab some poop bags -- it’s time for the Oak Lawn Chamber’s annual “Spring Into Summer” pet parade, children’s activities, live music, car show and vendor fair on the Village Green.
Spend the longest day of the year springing into summer with the Oak Lawn Chamber from on the Village Green at Cook and Dumke. The event features a pet parade, new car show, vendor fair, music and other solstice frivolity. Pet rescue groups will also be joining the event this year, offering pet information and adoptions.

“Spring Into Summer” kicks off with the annual neighborhood pet parade led by the award-winning Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School Jazz Ensemble. Although dogs are usually the only pets that show up, all species are welcome to march in the parade.
The parade starts lining up a OLHMS at 54th Avenue and 99th Street at 9 a.m. for a 10 a.m. step-off, proceeding north on 54th Avenue, east on 96th Street/Yourell to Cook Avenue, to the parade finish line at the Village Green.
Prizes will be given for the best owner-pet look-a-like and best dressed pet, which for the past three years has gone to perennial winner Shadow the poodle.
