Oak Lawn Family Gets 6 United Airlines Tickets to LA for $60

Brief computer booking glitch allows customers to get tickets for next to nothing, and United says it will honor the tickets.

An Oak Lawn family booked six round-trip United Airlines fares from O'Hare International Airport to Los Angeles last week at a total cost of $60 — $0 for the tickets, plus about $10 in fees per ticket, due to a glitch in the airline's booking website.

Patch's friends at WGN 9 carried a report on the Oak Lawn residents, and at the time they didn't know if the airline would honor the low-cost tickets. Later, United confirmed that it would honor all tickets booked during the glitch, which reportedly lasted about 15 minutes.

The Oak Lawn residents plan next June to see a White Sox-Dodgers game, visit Disneyland and then head to wine country for their 10th wedding anniversary.
