Residents to Have Another Chance to Air Concerns About Advocate Christ Expansion Plans

Advocate Christ Medical Center is hosting a town hall meeting tonight for residents to discuss plans for new ambulatory pavilion.

Advocate Christ Medical Center is hosting a town hall meeting tonight (Monday, July 25) for residents to discuss plans for the medical center’s ambulatory pavilion.

the $200 million ambulatory pavilion is expected to break ground in the fall. Tonight’s meeting is the fourth the medical center has held for community residents to air their concerns about the expansion.

Since those meetings, Advocate Christ says it has “taken several significant steps to reduce area road congestion and limit traffic moving through the neighborhoods,” Advocate Christ Medical Center President Kenneth Lukhard said in a letter to residents dated July 12.

A surface parking lot is currently located at the site. Advocate Christ officials did not release any other information about the second parking structure’s height or square footage.

Lukhard said in his letter that, “More parking is desperately needed if we are to ensure better service for our patients and their families and, at the same time, reduce on-street parking and related traffic in the immediate area.”

Tonight’s meeting is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. and will take place in the Advocate Christ Auditorium and Conference Center on Kilbourn, just north of 95th Street on Kilbourn Avenue.

Residents who are unable to attend tonight’s meeting can pose questions and express concerns to the Advocate Christ executive leadership team at 708-684-6397. The phone number will be in effect through the duration of construction.
