Hangin’ with Chris Johnston at Riddles

Chris Johnston offers up his observational comedy from his weird insights into everyday life to opinions on controversial topics. His boyish charm makes all the crap in the world seem somehow comforting. Johnston performs four shows Friday and Saturday, at 8:00pm and 10:30pm, Oct. 7-8, at Riddles Comedy Club at 5055 W. 111th St. in Alsip. Two-drink minimum, 21 and over. $12.

Don’t Stop Believing! ARRA Plays 115 Bourbon Street

Arena-rock cover band ARRA storms the stage at 115 Bourbon Street featuring the music of Journey, Boston, Rush, Kansas, Styx, Van Halen, Foreigner and more (what, no Fog Hat?). Show starts at 10:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8. ARRA performs regularly throughout the Chicago area at nightclubs and festivals. 115 Bourbon Street is located at 3359 West 115th Street   Merrionette Park. $5 cover, 21 and over.

Annual Hot Rod and Classic Car Show

If you drove your daddy to drinkin' while driving your hot rod Lincoln, this show is for you. Join the Village of Evergreen Park in the 2011 Hot Rod and Classic Car Show at Yukich Field, 8900 S. Kedzie Ave. This year's event will benefit the Wounded Warrior's Project and will be held from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Judging begins at 6 p.m. The first 100 cars will receive a dashboard placard. Cold-blooded creatures will crawl to Tinley Park this weekend for the 8th Annual North American Reptile Breeders Conference & Trade Show at the Tinley Park Convention Center at Harlem Avenue and 183rd Street. Open to the public this Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8-9, 10-5 Saturday and 11-4 on Sunday, the high quality, captive-bred-only reptile show brings together top dealers from across the country offering more than 10,000 exotic and pet-friendly “herps.” Prices range from $5 to $75,000 for everything from the common gecko to extraordinarily rare breeds of slithering snakes. Don’t miss the opportunity to get up close and personal with frogs, turtles, snakes, iguanas, tortoises and more! Showgoers will also have the opportunity to meet and greet celebrity guests Robbie Keszey and Stephen Keszey from Discovery’s hit show Swamp Brothers, and Animal Planet’s, Nigel Marven.

The Second-Annual St. George School Oktoberfest

Willkommen! Come join in on all the fun Saturday at St. George School's 2nd Annual Oktoberfest in Tinley Park. The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. and features craft beer samplings from local breweries, live entertainment, local vendors and a bean bag tournament. Buy a $25 advance ticket, which includes 10 beer samples and one food ticket. A $10 advanced designated driver ticket will earn you free water and pop and one food ticket.
