Glass: Art from Earth and Fire

 Southland AreaSouthland Community Associates of the Art Institute of ChicagoRelease date: October 4 and after           The Southland Community Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago invites the residents of the Southland area to a lecture Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 10:45 a.m.  The program will be held at the Art Institute of Chicago, 111 South Michigan, in the Morton Auditorium.  Annie Morse, senior lecturer, Art Institute will speak on the title, " Glass, Art From Earth and Fire".  In this armchair tour of glass in world cultures, expect to be amazed by artists' technological history of humble objects for domestic use.  Glass literally gives us a window to another world.          Cost for this event is $20.00 for non-members of Southland Community Associates.  An admission fee to the Art Institute is necessary for attendees who are not members of the Art Institute.  Please be prepared to pay by check to the Art Institute of Chicago.  If you have any questions, please call Judith Hook, 708-499-9447.  Kay Shannon4524 W. 101st Place
