World War I Exhibit to Visit Moraine Valley

A traveling photo exhibit, which features portraits and stories of the last 13 surviving World War I veterans, all of whom were more than 100 years old at the time the photographs were taken, and educational panels showing the history of World War I will be on display in the John and Angeline Oremus Theater at Moraine Valley Nov. 3 to Nov. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.

A component of the exhibit is a letter-writing campaign requesting U.S. congressmen and senators pass a law that will allow the current monument to be restored and renamed the DC and National World War I Memorial. The exhibit at Moraine Valley will include an area where guests can complete a letter that will be sent to the Illinois delegates.

More information about the World War I Memorial Foundation can be found at www.wwimemorial.org. For more information about the exhibit at Moraine Valley, contact Josh Fulton by e-mail at fultonj4@morainevalley.edu or by calling (708) 608-4183.
