'They're Playing Our Song' Opens Aug. 1 in Oak Lawn

The smash Broadway musical comedy "They’re Playing Our Song" is opening Aug. 1, 2014, in Oak Lawn.  The story was written by Neil Simon with music by Marvin Hamlisch, composer of musicals such as "A Chorus Line" and songs like "The Way We Were". Filled with the feel of the 1970s, it’s a show you won’t want to miss.

The terrific veteran cast features Donald Fitzgibbons in the title role of Vernon Gersch and Jeni Wasilewski as Sonia Walsk. The Voices of Vernon, his alter egos, are played by Reagan Pender, Tom Sullivan, Eric Downs, Brian Fitzgibbons, Michael Lambton and Tommy Taylor. The Voices of Sonia are played by Corinne Kalebich, Kelsey Bischoff, Amy Kazin, Abby Fritz, Annie Eyer, and Whitney Glover.

The production will run at the Oak View Center, 4625 W. 110th St., on Friday Aug. 1 and Friday, Aug. 8 at 8 pm, Saturday, Aug. 2 and Saturday, Aug. 9 at 8 pm, and Sunday, Aug. 3 and Sunday, Aug. 10 at 3 pm. Tickets are available at the Oak View Center or can be purchased by phone at 708-857-2200.
