Oak Lawn Storm Info: How to Report Outages and Downed Trees, Find Cooling Centers

The Village wants you to know the best ways to deal with storm damage.

From the Village of Oak Lawn:  

Yesterday’s storm caused extensive damage and power outages throughout the Village and the surrounding area.

Oak Lawn crews have been working throughout the night to remove debris from Roadways and sidewalks and we are working closely with COM ED to restore all Oak Lawn addresses as soon as possible.

Trees on Village property:

If there is a damaged tree or limbs from the Oak Lawn parkway which is blocking a street, sidewalk or driveway please call 708-499-7756 to report the location so that crews can be dispatched.

Private Property Storm Damage/ Debris:

If your home, vehicle or other property was damaged by the storm. Before removing debris,  photograph the damage and contact your insurance agent about the requirement to file a claim.

Residents with branches or tree limbs from trees on your property can stack them curb side for removal by Oak Lawn Public works.

Power Issues:

Call Com Ed at 1-800-334-7661 to report your outage by phone. Tell us about the outage so we can send the right crews and equipment to the right location.

Mobile Device: Text "OUT"

Subscribers to Outage Alerts can quickly report an outage by texting "OUT" to 26633. You will also receive notifications when an outage has been reported at your address, and get ongoing updates as the status of your outage changes.

Cooling Centers

The National Weather Service is predicting an extremely high Heat Index for 25 June. Residents are urged to take precautions when outdoors. The below link from the American Red Cross provides useful information on how to Beat the Heat and stay hydrated.
