A Man's Home Is His Castle: House Hunt

If you're a property virgin, your eyes might whirl like pinwheels the first time you take a look at home listings.  We'll try to decipher a different real estate term each week in our "House Hunt" column.

"What the heck is a three-quarter bathroom?"

A "full bath" is generally considered to have four features:  a bathtub, a shower, a toilet and a sink.  (The bathtub and shower are usually, but not always, combined).

A "three-quarter bath" is a bathroom with a shower, a toilet and a sink.

A "half bath" is basically a powder room:  a toilet and sink.

A “quarter bath” is rarely seen, but it’s either a toilet or a sink, alone.
