New Day for Al’s Beef and Nancy’s Pizza

Restaurants have received top to bottom renovation, with plans to reopen in same co-location in late November.

Al’s Beef and Nancy’s Pizza are reopening at the end of the month under new ownership in Oak Lawn.

The combined restaurant, which mysteriously closed over a year ago, will be co-located in the same spot at 5125 W. 95th St.

The restaurant merges two great brands that got their start in Chicago home kitchens -- Al’s Beef and Nancy’s Pizza. Fans of both brands can expect the same legendary recipes.

Former customers used to old Al’s and Nancy’s will be greeted by an entirely new decor and open floor plan.

“Everything is new from from top to bottom,” general manager Shaun Ebner said. “The decor has been updated with tile walls, new tables and chairs, and a second entry door.

The kitchen has also been completely outfitted with new cooking equipment where all food is made fresh daily.  The beef used in Al’s sandwiches is chemical and injection free; Nancy’s sauce is homemade from only the freshest ingredients.

“We don’t do anything with frozen products,” Ebner said. “All of our food is made fresh daily.”

The menu is also being revamped, including new salads and sandwiches, as well as Al's #1 Italian beef. The new owners have added loaded, barbecue, nacho and buffalo bleu cheeses specialty fries.

Nancy’s famous stuffed pizza is back in 1.5-in. and 2.5-in thicknesses. Nancy’s is also introducing a rustic crust pan pizza.

The combined restaurant is also offering catering.

Ebner said the new owners are local entrepreneurs who plan to be hands-on in the daily operations of the restaurants. They’re looking forward to making the community happy again and having a successful business in Oak Lawn.

“We are new and want to be actively involved in the community, school functions, the township and charitable organizations,” the general manager said. “I can guarantee that things will a lot different this time around and for the better.”

The reopening will bring 35 new jobs to the Oak Lawn area. The new owners will be holding a mass hiring events for cooks, kitchen helpers, line workers and cashiers from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 13 through Nov. 18.

Applications are being taken at Al’s Beef and Nancy’s Pizza located at 5125 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn. Applicants will be interviewed on the spot.
