SOCIETY: Oak Lawn Chamber Golf Outing Scores 'Hole in One'

More than 60 golfers participate in business chamber's annual golf outing at Stony Creek Golf Course.

The golf outing is the chamber’s largest fundraiser of the year and received overwhelming support from members and many Oak Lawn businesses in the form of sponsorships, products and gift certificates.

The year’s major sponsor was , with 39 sponsors seizing the opportunity to sponsor holes.

More than 60 golfers came out to enjoy the links at Stony Creek. The day began with lunch sponsored by . On the course, golfers were treated to three “watering holes” courtesy of , Oak Lawn Patch and State Bank of Countryside. The cart sponsor this year was . and MetLife provided the buffet dinner.

The winners of golf with the lowest net score of 54 and birdie on hole #16 were (George Les, Matt Babich, Steve Loulousis, and Jerry Hurckes). The low net with 52 was the (Don Andersen, Sue Murphy, Alex Kazmierczak, and Tom Zobak). The closest to the pin #5 was Jack Baker (29” from the hole) and Andrea Anderson. The longest drive winners were Joe Walsh and Jennifer Hendrick.

Golfers also enjoyed the chance to try their luck at one of two raffles.  More than 50 raffle baskets lined the tables, including liquor baskets, picnic gear, golf items, gift certificates and more.

Founded in 1946, the Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce consists of more than 300 members today.
