100 Pooches Prance in Pet Parade

Pooches and their peeps have grand time marching in Oak Lawn Chamber's annual pet parade.

The dogs of Oak Lawn marched proudly down 54th Avenue in the annual pet parade on Saturday.

Some of the pooches wore tutus, others went as duck hunters, but most came as themselves.

The pet parade was led by the ritual team from Johnson-Phelps VFW Post 5220. The Stockyard Kilty Band set the beat.

Oak Lawn Mayor Sandra Bury and Village Clerk Jane Quinlan were on hand to greet doggies and their owners.

There were no fights among the participants, only the occasional comfort stops along the parade.

The annual parade was sponsored by the Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce.

Oak Lawn firefighters passed out complimentary collapsible water dishes.

Horses and ponies were supplied by Melody Lane Stables, 8290 Kean Ave., Williowspings, IL.

A grand time was had by all.
