Oak Lawn Among Hottest Early Voting Sites

Oak Lawn Village Hall ranks as one of the top 5 early voting locations in Cook County. More than 40,000 people have already cast their votes in this year's consolidated election.

If early voting is any indication of voter turnout, the polls may see heightened attendance on April 9.

Over 40,000 voters already made their decision for the 2,688 candidates running for 993 contests in this year’s April 9 consolidated election, according to Cook County Clerk David Orr’s office. That’s up 52.5 percent from the 2011 consolidated election and 60.4 percent compared to 2009.

"Voters turn out in local elections when a contested race or weighty referendum is on the ballot," Orr said in a press release. "Many mayoral races are up for grabs tomorrow so we will certainly have pockets of activity."
