LEGO StoryStarter Camp: Minecraft (Starts June 19, Register now)

As Albert Einstein said, “Creativity is contagious. Pass it on!” Children have vivid imaginations and they LOVE to tell stories. The LEGO StoryStarter course series allows students to tell their stories in a fun and exciting way! Students will work collaboratively with a partner and use their creativity to dream up a story, build and photograph LEGO scenes to tell the story, and then use easy-to-master software to produce a comic strip story. Students will be encouraged to think about the beginning, middle, and end of their story while also developing the important elements of who, what, why, and where. Students will be taught everything they need to know to use the computers, digital cameras, StoryStarter software and LEGOs (lots and lots of LEGOs) that will be used to create the stories.

LEGO StoryStarter - Minecraft: Minecraft has taken the gaming world by storm. Players of all ages love the way the game allows them to create their own worlds. Minecraft players love that it places no limits on their imagination in a world where they can make whatever they want. In this course, students will be able to take their love of Minecraft one step further! Stories involving their favorites like Steve, the Creeper, the Enderman, villagers, spiders, skeletons, zombies, etc. will be developed and captured in comic strip format. At the end of the course, students’ stories will be posted online so students can show their family and friends. Students work in pairs, sign up with a friend for twice the fun! Ages 6 – 9.
