Best of Fall On the Green 2012: Video and Photo Highlights

See who was seen at Fall On the Green. Add your photos and video to ours.

Congratulations to the on another successful Fall On the Green. The weather held up for the most part and residents and visitors of all ages appeared to be enjoying themselves.

Some residents wrote to Patch to complain about almost being burned by cigarettes on the dance floor in the Budweiser Beer Tent. There was a lot of smoking and dancing with lit cigarettes in the hands during the Tumbling Dice show on Friday night.

We thank the Oak Lawn village employees who did the yeoman’s work on coordinating, building and staging the 2012 edition plus dealing with crazy village board politics:

  • Chad Weiler, director of business operations
  • Deanne Adasiak, business operations
  • Steve Barrett, director of public works
  • Gerry “Chic” Chickerillo, street division manager/pumpkin hoister
  • OLPD and OLFD
  • and the volunteers of the Oak Lawn Special Events Committee

Dogs Don't belong at events such as this..Plain and simple, a dog, any dog, simply cannot handle all the confusion when surrounded in a crowd of unknown people. I love dogs and we have quite a few in our family.. I know your intentions are good but do everyone, including your dog a favor and leave the dog at home to relax..You could always bring him home a treat from the fest!!

I think it depends on the dog and I saw a few at FOTG. I do bring my dog with occasionally on news assignments but it depends on what it is.

Loved the FOTG ! Had a blast......... went all three days, invited family and friends and everyone had a great time. It was a popular event and decorated beautifully. The Oak Lawn Police did a fine job. The food was great. Overall huge success. Only complaint......... was the smoke. There was smoking everywhere. In the tent out of the tent and by the children. A girl who was pregnant was concerned about the second hand smoke....... is there any way we can have a smoke free area? Any suggestions? I'm not a smoker, but a few x smokers had to leave due to problems with breathing the smoke. Thanks, Carol

It was fun and Infinity was great! Bring them back! The side show vendors were a riproff, though! Overall it was a great, fun time! Renee
