Community Update

Ok I did work for the Mayor's campaign, because I believed in what she wanted to do for the people, businesses of Oak Lawn. Believe me this is the FIRST TIME I backed and worked for a political canidate.  Truthfully I don't trust politicans as far as I can throw them.  Make that a 500 lb politican, and that I can't throw very far.

The Press, at one time they were suppose to run in the middle, report both sides.  They should be ashamed for the way the handle the news now a days.  I see both sides doing the same thing but only call one side out.  The only reporter I respect is John Kass a former Oak Lawn Resident and from what I heard today a former Back of the Yards Resident my area and always home.

As I sat through the Board meetings I finally came up with my views.

Trustee Tim Desmond got great ideas for the youth of Oak Lawn, I wish him well in getting his program off the ground.  Hes' going to be good for his district.

Trustee Alex Olenjniczak, my Trustee, here I was very opened mined, but my opinion of him has grown.  He fought for us to get new alleys, streets, sidewalks, which was so needed. Our Village Green is beautiful this is not the time or place to redo it.  We need to put the money where its needed maybe later on we can revisit this but not now. Alex is also on top of Com Ed and the issues the village has with them.  If you have any questions on this call him, he'll be glad to answer any of your questions.

Trustee Streit, adult in a peanut cartoon, talks but makes no sense.

Terry Vorderer, great man, level headed,  I love his town hall meetings, great idea! He's got his hands full having the hospital in his district. You can see how much he cares for the village, his district and doing whats right.

Carol Quinlan have formed an opinion but I'd rather not say right now.

Mike Carberry he does a lot for his district and everyone is excited about the redevelopment of 111th and Cicero, this is a big job to oversee. Mike has a lot of common sense and will do well.

Now I believe we must keep our Board Members on their toes.  Voice your opinions, help the village, don't let them get out of line.

I wish the New Board well and best of luck, I don't want dirty politics in our village.

Remember the Village Manager said which I love

"We are not Illinois We are Oak Lawn"  John Kennedy said "Ask not what your villiage can do for you but what can you do for your village, home.

See you, have a great day.
